Several people commenting on the arrest report suggested Nelan has been dealing with mental health issues.

But here’s where it gets interesting: Nelan’s home sits within the National Radio Quiet Zone, a 13,000-square-mile area where cellphones and Wi-Fi are banned to protect the Green Bank Observatory and classified military surveillance operations. The zone has long been a magnet for UFO sightings, reports of “lost time,” and people claiming to suffer from electromagnetic hypersensitivity — a condition where exposure to radio waves allegedly causes headaches, nausea, nosebleeds, and other symptoms.

Something Is Shaking Under Area 51 — Literally

In the 24 hours leading up to Thursday, at least 17 earthquakes rattled the desert just miles from America’s most famous secret base. The biggest hit a magnitude of 4.4 and struck only 2.5 miles underground — shallow enough to make seismologists raise an eyebrow.

Geophysicist Stefan Burns called the location “an unusual place to get an earthquake,” noting the region has historically been quiet compared with other Western fault zones. He stopped short of saying it was an underground nuclear test, but he didn’t not say it either: there was, in his words, “some ambiguity” in the data, enough to make the question “worth discussing.”
The USGS, naturally, says it’s just the Earth doing what the Earth does in Nevada — slowly stretching apart along ancient faults. Christopher DuRoss of the USGS even pushed back on the word “swarm,” since the cluster had a clear main quake (the 4.4) followed by aftershocks.

But here’s the thing the USGS can’t address: Area 51 sits next door to the Nevada National Security Site, which hosted more than 900 nuclear tests between 1951 and 1992. So when the ground starts dancing in the neighborhood, people are going to ask questions. As one X user put it: “The aliens are shaking the earth!!”

Our take: Probably tectonics. Probably. But the Pentagon’s own declassified history — including a 2025 review admitting the government deliberately seeded fake UFO photos around Area 51 to cover for stealth aircraft programs — should be all the reminder anyone needs that “nothing to see here” has historically meant look closer.

UFO Whistleblowers Say Someone Is Trying to Silence Them

This one is dark — and important.

Investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell, who has helped bring multiple whistleblowers before Congress, told the Daily Mail this week that the people coming forward about classified UAP programs are paying a very real price. “They’re giving up their security clearance, they’re giving up their security, they’re putting their family at risk,” he said.

The case at the center of his upcoming film Sleeping Dog is that of Air Force veteran Dylan Borland, who testified before Congress in 2025 about a 100-foot triangular craft he says he encountered near Langley Air Force Base in 2012. Borland describes it as a black metallic triangle with “gold lava plasma-like fluid” rippling across its surface — a craft that hovered silently before shooting straight up to commercial-jet altitude.

Since testifying, Borland says, his life has fallen apart. He alleges forged documents in his name, manipulated security records, and — after he provided medical records and emails to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence — an ODNI employee accusing him of perjury for things he says he never said.

Then there’s Matthew Sullivan, a 39-year-old former Air Force intelligence officer scheduled to testify in a 2024 UFO whistleblower hearing. He died before he could. The FBI and Congress are now involved. Corbell calls the death “extremely suspicious.”

And Matthew Brown, who came forward in 2025 alleging a secret UAP program called Immaculate Constellation, says his home was broken into while he was asleep, that intelligence officers infiltrated his social networks, and that coordinated campaigns are working to discredit him online.

Our take: You don’t have to believe in flying saucers to find this pattern alarming. When the people trying to talk keep ending up harassed, hacked, broken into, or dead — that is the story.

A Congresswoman, the Book of Enoch, and the Madonna of the UFO

If there is a “main character” of UFO disclosure right now, it’s Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, chair of the House Oversight task force on declassifying federal secrets. And she had a busy weekend on X.

On April 18, she posted two messages back-to-back. The first: “Read the Book of Enoch.” The second, sixteen minutes later: an image of Madonna and Child with the Infant St John — the 15th-century Domenico Ghirlandaio painting nicknamed the “Madonna of the UFO” because of a disc-shaped object glowing in its background sky.

She offered no caption. She didn’t need to.

The Book of Enoch is an ancient Jewish text — written between 300 and 100 BC — describing the Watchers, a group of angels who descended to Earth, mated with human women, and produced the Nephilim, a race of giants. It was excluded from most biblical canons in the fourth century. Luna has argued repeatedly on podcasts that it was suppressed precisely because it documented contact with non-human intelligence — what she has elsewhere called “interdimensional beings.”

Meanwhile, on the official side: Luna had ordered Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to deliver 46 specific UAP video clips by April 14. The Pentagon missed the deadline. The clips reportedly include footage of spherical, cigar-shaped, and Tic Tac-like objects over war zones, oceans, and sensitive airspace.
Our take: Whatever you think of the theology, when a sitting member of Congress with classified UAP briefings starts pointing the public toward Enoch, you should at least notice where the finger is pointing.

Trump: “Very Interesting” UFO Files Coming Soon

On April 29, asked at a White House briefing about the UFO files, President Trump said: “I think we’re going to be releasing as much as we can in the near future. Some of it is going to be very interesting to people.” He added that he had personally interviewed pilots — “very solid people” — who described things “you wouldn’t believe.”
This follows his February 19 executive order directing the Department of War to identify and release “any and all” UFO and UAP records. Hegseth has said he’ll learn the contents of those files “alongside” the public.

The next day, Rep. Tim Burchett went on NewsNation and added: “I’ve seen pictures and video of things that defy any reason that we have.” He dismissed the standard explanations one by one. The Chinese? “They would own us.” The Russians? “They wouldn’t be bogged down in Ukraine.” Our own? “We would never risk our military fighting men and women in half-a-billion-dollar aircraft” trying to chase them.

Our take: We’ll believe the files when we see them. But the political momentum behind disclosure is no longer subtle, and it isn’t partisan.

“I saw that. It was bright green. It was massive. I thought it was a firework at first; it seemed so close,” one viewer posted on Facebook.

Another said, “Yes, I saw it walking home in Derbyshire. Looked like a firework, the colors it was giving off. Glad I read this…wasn’t sure what I’d seen.”

One person joked: “Yep, my bathroom lit up, I thought I was hallucinating… lol”.

Turns out, it wasn’t a firework. It was a meteor—technically a bolide, which is NASA’s term for a fireball that explodes in the atmosphere.

What Happens When Space Rocks Hit the Atmosphere
During atmospheric entry, an object slows down and heats up by friction. A bow shock forms in front of it—atmospheric gases compress, heat up, and radiate energy back to the object, causing it to ablate (burn away).

Most of the time, the object breaks apart. Fragmentation increases the amount of atmosphere it intercepts, which enhances both ablation and braking. The object catastrophically disrupts when the force from unequal pressures on its front and back sides exceeds its tensile strength.

Translation: it blows up before it hits the ground.

In this case, the fireball disappeared after bursting into a bright green glow, suggesting that most of it burned up before reaching Earth.

Thousands of Fireballs Happen Daily—You Just Don’t See Them
Around the world, thousands of fireballs occur every day.

Most go unnoticed because they happen over oceans, uninhabited regions, or during daylight hours when the sky’s too bright to catch the show.

This one happened at half past midnight over a densely populated island with a doorbell camera on every other porch. So it got noticed.

Keith Spirit captured a photo of the fireball as it zoomed through the skies over Northumberland. Someone on the M62 was still buzzing about how bright it was. A camera on the edge of the moors in Winterburn caught it.

One person quipped: “See, we go round the moon, and now we have space rocks being thrown at us,” in reference to NASA’s Artemis II mission.

The Green Color Means Something
The bright green hue isn’t random—it’s caused by the composition of the meteor itself. When certain metals (such as nickel or magnesium) burn in the atmosphere, they emit green light.

So the color tells you what the rock was made of before it became a fleeting spectacle for insomniacs and late-night dog walkers.

The Difference Between a Meteor, a Meteoroid, and a Meteorite

• An asteroid is a large chunk of rock left over from collisions or the early solar system—most are located between Mars and Jupiter in the Main Belt.
• A comet is a rock covered in ice, methane, and other compounds, with orbits that take it much farther out of the solar system.
• A meteor is what astronomers call a flash of light in the atmosphere when debris burns up.
• The debris itself is known as a meteoroid. If any of that meteoroid makes it to Earth, it’s called a meteorite. Most are so small they vaporize in the atmosphere.

No One Got Hit by Space Debris This Time
The good news is the fireball disappeared, meaning it burned up before impact.

The bad news: if you were hoping to find a meteorite in your backyard and sell it on eBay, you’re out of luck.

Space rocks hit Earth all the time. Most of them are harmless. The ones that aren’t—well, those make the news for different reasons.

This one just lit up the sky, confused a few hundred people, and gave everyone something to talk about over breakfast.

The Kacey Musgraves UFO sighting started over Little Rock, Arkansas — three orbs at roughly 50,000 feet, moving in ways that didn’t match any aircraft she’d ever seen. They formed triangle patterns. Changed direction with the plane. Got brighter, shifted colors, changed size. Sometimes they’d disappear entirely, then reappear somewhere else.

“These orbs were not moving like any craft that we can control,” she said in an Instagram Story posted Friday. “They were intermittently coming and going, forming triangle patterns.”

She filmed them on her iPhone 17 — the footage looks grainy, distant, and hard to focus. She acknowledged it looks like she “filmed them on a f–king toaster,” but pointed out that even high-quality footage wouldn’t convince skeptics anyway.

Fair point.

The Pilots Confirmed They’ve Been Seeing Them Every Night
After landing, Musgraves talked to both pilots. They’d seen the orbs too — and they’d been seeing them “every single night.” Other pilots around the country have been reporting the same thing.

Nobody knows what they are.

The Grammy-winning country singer has seen “many crazy things” in her life — she mentioned “fire burning in the sky” as one example — but this made the list of “strange and unexplainable” experiences. She’s not particularly concerned, though. “S–t is weird, but I’m here for it,” she said.

Then she saw another orb while filming the Instagram Stories at her home.

The Footage Is Blurry, the Explanation Is Missing, and the Pattern Keeps Repeating
Musgraves shared multiple videos of the orbs in her Instagram Stories — distant lights against a dark sky, hard to make out clearly, exactly what you’d expect from a phone camera trying to focus on something far away at night.

The interesting part isn’t the video quality. It’s the pilot confirmation.

Commercial pilots seeing the same unexplained phenomena every single night — and apparently discussing it with each other — suggests this isn’t a one-off sighting or a misidentified satellite. It’s a pattern.

Musgraves isn’t the first celebrity to report a UFO sighting, and she won’t be the last. But most celebrity UFO stories don’t come with corroboration from multiple airline pilots who’ve been watching the same thing play out night after night.

The “Golden Hour” singer is currently preparing to release her seventh studio album, “Middle of Nowhere,” on May 1 — featuring a Miranda Lambert collaboration after years of the two country stars reportedly feuding.

In the meantime, she’s keeping it weird.
